Hello, prospective Scholars! My name is Alexis, but you can call me Lexi. I’m a junior at UR and I’m so excited to get to know you all! Here are a few things about my life at Richmond.

My passions are books and politics, and I'd like to one day practice civil rights law. There are endless opportunities here at UR that allow me to feed those passions and prepare for my future! In addition to my classes, I spend a lot of time volunteering for political campaigns.  I’m an Oliver Hill Scholar as well as a Richmond Scholar and I currently serve as President of College Democrats, Vice President of Richmond Mock Trial, and on the executive board of Richmond Debate.  I’m also a member of the Knitting Club (though I crochet) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! I highly recommend joining a Living Learning Community as I participated in both Endeavor and SSIR. In addition to being a Richmond Scholar Ambassador, I am a political science research assistant and I coach a local debate team.

The Richmond Scholars program is the chance of a lifetime, and I can honestly say that I would not wish to go to college anywhere else.  The Scholars community is full of driven, passionate people, and when we come together, we make each other shine even brighter. Being a part of this group has been a joy, and in addition to the fantastic, supportive faculty, my Richmond experience has been extremely enriching. UR is a land full of opportunity and I’d love to help you all find the best ones for you. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m happy to chat about the Scholars Program, extracurriculars, or even Harry Potter trivia!
