Majors: History, PPEL

Alli is double majoring in History and Gender & Sexuality Studies. She currently serves as a senator for the Westhampton College Student Government Association, an Oliver Hill Scholar, and the Campus Connections Chair for the WILL Program. Alli’s favorite thing about being a Richmond Scholar is the community and getting to know other scholars. Her favorite thing about UR is the small class sizes and the opportunity to build close relationships with faculty. 

Adam Kasti

Adam Kasti
Tampa, Florida
Majors: Political Science, Leadership Studies 

Adam is double majoring in Political Science and Leadership Studies, with double minors in History and Music. He is involved in several campus ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Ensemble, and is the founder and president of the University of Richmond Video Game Orchestra. Adam also serves as a senator in the Richmond College Student Government Association, a Co-Editor-in-Chief for Araneum, the university’s political science journal, and a Fellow in the Gary McDowell Institute. What Adam enjoys most about being a Richmond Scholar is the camaraderie and the many opportunities the program and the university provide to pursue his interests and intellectual curiosities. 

Will Iboshi

Will Iboshi
Portland, Oregon
Majors: Political Science, Global Studies

Will is from Portland, Oregon, and is majoring in Political Science and Global Studies with minors in Arabic and History. On campus, he performs with two a cappella groups, Schola Cantorum and Choeur du Roi, and has served as a representative on the Board of Trustees, a senator in the Student Government Association, and a founding editor of Araneum. Will’s favorite thing about UR is the wide range of opportunities, from studying abroad at Oxford to presenting research and building meaningful connections with faculty. He considers the Richmond Scholars Program the opportunity of a lifetime. A fun fact about Will is that he sang in 25 shows at a music festival in Scotland! 

Michelle Darfour

Michelle Darfour
Woodbridge, Virginia
Major: Mathematical Economics

Michelle is from Woodbridge, VA, and is majoring in Mathematical Economics with a minor in Data Science & Statistics. On campus, she serves as the Chair of Financial Affairs for the Westhampton College Government Association, the Treasurer of Ngoma African Dance Company, and a volunteer with Pathways to a College Experience. She is also a member of several affinity groups, including the Black Student Alliance, African Student Association, and NAACP, and works with student organization finances through the Center for Student Involvement. A fun fact about Michelle is that she had two piercings when she started college and now has twenty—sixteen of which she got in Richmond! 

Gleb Patyrin

Almaty, Kazakhstan
Majors: Mathematical Economics, Business Administration

Gleb is an international student from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Gleb is pursuing a dual degree in Mathematical Economics and Business Administration. He is a member of the President’s Student Advisory Board and URLifts. Gleb’s favorite things at UR are the lake and his Accounting 302 class. 

Lia Adams

Lia Adams
Kansas City, Missouri
Majors: Business Administration, German Studies

Lia is double majoring in Business Administration, with a concentration in International Business, and German Studies. On campus, she is involved in Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, Career Services, Women in Business, Club Tennis, and Club Pickleball. She loves UR because of the many opportunities to study abroad and the strong sense of community among students and professors. Outside of UR, Lia works with children and enjoys traveling. 

Liz Ustun

Liz Ustun
Antalya, Turkey
Majors: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology

Liz is an international student from Antalya, Türkiye, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on a pre-engineering track, with minors in Entrepreneurship and Math. On campus, she is involved in Osmosis Magazine and Alpha Sigma Kappa, and serves as president of the Turkish Student Association. Liz’s favorite thing about being a Richmond Scholar is the community and the scholars within the program.
